Former Barcelona star Sergio Aguero has, on Saturday, hinted that close friend and Blaugrana icon Lionel Messi has set his sights on a return to the Camp Nou.
Chatter surrounding an incoming reunion between Messi and Barca, of course, has begun to ramp up of late.
As his contract with Paris Saint-Germain continues to wind down, and the board at the Parc des Princes struggle in efforts to tie the Argentine down to fresh terms, the powers that be in Catalunya have made no secret of their desire to bring the club’s greatest ever player back.
In fact, just yesterday, Barca vice president Rafa Yuste confirmed that negotiations had been opened with Messi’s entourage, over a potential summer move:
Barça vice president Rafa Yuste: “We’ve been in contact with Leo Messi’s camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him and I’d love for him to come back” 🔵🔴 #FCB

The spike in reports that a once-unlikely reunion between the two parties could now be on the cards comes amid the widespread suggestion that Messi himself has given the green light to taking his talents back to La Liga.
What, though, convinced him of the merits of as much?
Late on Saturday, though, as alluded to above, a close friend of Messi’s has dropped a further hint over just what may have proven the tipping point for the 35-year-old.
Speaking with Ibai Llanos during a broadcast on Twitch, Sergio Aguero – who of course enjoyed a brief spell alongside Messi at Barca – was drawn on the future of his fellow countryman.
Specifically, the once-prolific hitman was asked whether Messi had caught wind of his name being chanted by fans this week, during Gerard Pique’s Kings League tournament at the Camp Nou.
And Aguero not only went on to confirm as much, but suggested that it proved the ‘key’, in seemingly convincing Messi of a summer return to Barcelona:
