Match preview

Bodø/Glimt remain unstoppable at home, but will their narrow first leg advantage prove decisive in Zagreb?

Eight nights ago, Amahl Pellegrino’s header was the only goal of the night at Aspmyra Stadion as the Norwegian champions won 1-0.

This tie is therefore finely poised ahead of the return meeting at Stadion Maksimir.

Bodø/Glimt have won back-to-back Eliteserien titles, despite never being champions of Norway beforehand.

Last season, the Yellow Horde played a total of 20 European matches, featuring in a first-ever group stage and getting all the way to the Europa Conference League quarter-finals.

Now, Kjetil Knutsen’s side are just a draw on the road away from completing the fairytale and making the Champions League debut.

It certainly won’t be easy though as GNK Dinamo are seasoned veterans at this level.

The Blues have won 16 of the last 17 Croatian titles so, to date, have featured in six Champions League and ten Europa League group stages, only failing to qualify for either once since 2006.

This season, Ante Čačić’s team have dumped out Shkupi and Ludogorets Razgrad, so have only lost three of their last 29 European home games, these defeats against Man City, Villarreal and West Ham.

Given that, GNK Dinamo will be confident of a turnaround in Zagreb.
