Union Berlin will aim to get their title charge back on track when they meet with Koln in the German capital this weekend off the back of a terrible defeat to the league leaders Bayern Munich away from home.
It was easily the worst performance of the season for Union, as they’ve now dropped three behind the league leaders and Borussia Dortmund in second by three points. Their title quest is far form over, however, and they could be back on level points in next to no time.
However, against Bayern, Urs Fischer’s men lost 3-0, had no shots on target from a total of three efforts and saw just 29% of the ball in a result that no doubt brought his side back down to earth.
As for Koln, they are down into 12th after a loss to Wolfsburg at home last weekend, and they are merely eyeing up a spot further away from the relegation zone after a struggle since the World Cup.
Koln are still seven points above the bottom three, however, while they sit six behind the top half of the table and they must get points in their next few games before the international break to avoid fears at the club of a relegation fight.
