Having seen their Champions League hopes go up in flames, will Fenerbahçe salvage their European season?
Last season’s Süper Leg runners-up were hoping to end their 14-year exile from the Champions League group stages.
In stead, despite drawing the first leg in Łódź, they were dumped out in the second qualifying round by Dynamo Kyiv.
Attila Szalai’s last-gasp equaliser forced extra time in İstanbul, but it was the Ukrainian side who landed the decisive blow in the 204th minute of the tie.
If Jorge Jesus’ side lose this one too, they’ll drop down to the Europa Conference League play-offs, needing to win that to secure any sort of group stage football.
Fenerbahçe should win this tie but come into it with all the pressure.
In contrast, Slovácko are just delighted to be here, entering at this round having won the Czech Cup for the very first time.
Aside from one foray into the Intertoto Cup, their only European tie came last year, beaten on penalties by Lokomotiv Plovdiv
So, this is a complete David vs Goliath situation, but Slovácko are reviling in their role as underdogs.
Can the visitors spring a massive surprise at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium?
