Celtic have won just four of their last 34 European away matches, excluding qualifiers. Bodø/Glimt meantime have won eight of their last nine European home matches, including all six in the Europa Conference League.

Both teams to score is 4/9.

Bodø/Glimt to win or draw is 4/6.

Runar Espejord opened the scoring on his debut last Thursday. He is 7/1 to break the deadlock and 15/8 to score anytime.

Georgios Giakoumakis has scored six goals in 2022, including a hat-trick against Dundee on Sunday. The Greek is 5/1 to open the scoring and 5/4 to add to his tally.

Match preview

New competition but same old Celtic when it come to the knockout phase of European competition.

A week ago, Runar Espejord gave Bodø/Glimt a shock lead just seven minutes in before Amahl Pellegrino doubled their advantage shortly after the break.

Celtic then finally got one back with just ten minutes to play with Josip Juranović’s inch-perfect cross glanced into the far post by Daizen Maeda.

This looked like setting up a grand-stand finish but, straight from kick off, Hugo Vetlesen speculative effort looped off Callum McGregor and over Joe Hart.

The Norwegian champions departed Scotland with a healthy 3-1 advantage, so will it be they who progress to the round of 16?

The Yellow Horde’s recent rise has been extraordinary, only gaining promotion to the top-flight in 2018 but then winning back-to-back Eliteserien titles.

In 2020, they finished a whopping 19 points clear of the rest, breaking all sorts of record, before pipping Molde by three points to last year’s crown.

In Europe, they qualified for a UEFA group stage for the very first time this season, beating Valur Reykjavík, Prishtina and Žalgiris Vilnius en route.

Once there, Kjetil Knutsen won all three home games and drew all three away, including a breathtaking 6-1 victory over Italian giants Roma.

Now, despite the fact the new Norwegian season doesn’t begin until 3 April, Bodø/Glimt are on the brink of the last 16.

Celtic meanwhile have visited Norway three times in the last five years, all against Rosenborg, but need a memorable win to leave victorious this time.

Ange Postecoglou’s side though should be buoyant after a, potentially, season-defining victory at the weekend.

Giorgos Giakoumakis’ hat-trick, the latter coming three minutes from time, snatched a 3-2 home victory over Dundee.

This means the Hoops have now won eight successive Premiership games and, after Rangers drew at Tanndice earlier on Sunday, they’re now three points clear.

Back in Europe, can Celtic pull off an improbably comeback at Aspmyra Stadion?

Bodø/Glimt team news

As mentioned, Bodø/Glimt’s next domestic match is a cup tie at Aalesunds on 13 March, meaning they’ve had a whole week to prepare for this one.

However, Marius Høibråten is suspended for this one while goalkeeper Nikita Khaykin is one yellow card away from a ban of his own.

Last week’s win was all the more impressive given that four starters left the club in January, for a combined €10 million, very little of which was spent.

Runar Espejord, who’s joined from Heerenveen, did score on his debut and will lead the line again.

Brice Wembangomo and Amahl Pellegrino caught the eye at Parkhead and will start once again at left-back and left-wing respectively.

Celtic team news

The visitors meanwhile are missing key players David Turnbull and Kyōgo Furuhashi due to injury.

Yōsuke Ideguchi also cannot play as he was not included in the UEFA squad.

At the back Christopher Jullien, who hasn’t started a game since suffering his horrible knee injury in December 2020, will be hoping for some minutes here.

Greg Taylor is likely to return at left-back with Josip Juranović switching back over to the right and taking Anthony Ralston’s spot.

In midfield, Reo Hatate was surprisingly left on the bench in the first leg but will surely start here.

Liel Abada will return to the front three, looking to score in a sixth different competition for Celtic; no player has ever done that.

Giorgos Giakoumakis’ hat-trick against Dundee will see him get the nod over Daizen Maeda through the middle.

Karamoko Dembélé, who celebrated his 18th birthday on Tuesday, is likely to be on the bench.
