101 Great Goals returns after another exhibition of top-class performances on the continent to bring you the European Team of the Week from the weekend.

Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai was a key catalyst for Marco Rose’s revenge on Borussia Dortmund after the Saxon native returned home to take charge of RB Leipzig and guided them to a 3-0 win over the Ruhr giants with a result that shows Die Roten Bullen are still a force to be reckoned with.

Elsewhere in Spain, Robert Lewandowski continues to prove Barcelona correct in their desire to bring the Polish center-forward to Catalunya in what was another superb performance – this time off the bench – while Real Madrid winger Rodrygo helped the Spanish giants remain two points clear of Barça at the La Liga summit.

Here now is the rest of the European Team of the Week for September 9-12.

GK: Yann Sommer (Borussia Mönchengladbach)

After a record-breaking performance two weeks ago against Bayern Munich, Sommer was at it again at the weekend for Gladbach against an SC Freiburg outfit that came into proceedings atop the Bundesliga table. Another shutout and a fantastic performance from the Swiss international.

RB: José Ángel Carmona (Sevilla Fútbol Club)

20-year-old Sevilla academy graduate José Ángel Carmona had a first start to remember at the weekend after the right-back bagged a brace and added an assist in a performance that saw him directly involved in all three goals as the Andalusians held on for a 3-2 win over Espanyol.

CB: Willi Orbán (Red Bull Leipzig)

CB: Juan Jesus (Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli)

Napoli earned a well-fought 1-0 win at home against Spezia on Saturday to keep hold of their place at the top of the table in Serie A, with 31-year-old Brazilian center-back Juan Jesus performing admirably at the heart of the I Partenopei back line.

LB: Caio Henrique (Association Sportive de Monaco)

Caio Henrique has become one of the top left-backs in Ligue 1 during his rise at Monaco across the last two years and the Monegasque outfit can thank the Brazilian for a brace of assists in the club’s 2-1 win over Lyon, taking him to four on the season.

CM: Rodrigo De Paul (Club Atlético de Madrid)

An all-action performance from former Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul in Atléti’s 4-1 win over Celta Vigo as Diego Simeone’s outfit looks to get back on track and push up the table, with De Paul chipping in across all areas of the pitch while adding a goal and an assist as well.

CM: Roberto Pereyra (Udinese Calcio)

Udinese made it four wins on the bounce in Serie A and are one of the in-form sides in the Italian top flight after a 3-1 win away at Sassuolo, with Roberto Pereyra putting in another performance in midfield with two assists to his name.

RW: Rodrygo (Real Madrid Club de Fútbol)

The “lesser” of two Brazilians in a vaunted Real Madrid front three, Rodrygo was excellent in the capital club’s 4-1 win home win against Mallorca to keep their two-point lead in the table over Barcelona with a goal and an assist to his name.

LW: Dominik Szoboszlai (Red Bull Leipzig)

Touted as the savior of Hungarian football since his rise to stardom at RB Salzburg, Dominik Szoboszlai could finally be ready to become a key figure in Leipzig under new boss Marco Rose and put in a MOTM performance against Dortmund with a goal and an assist to highlight an influential display.

CF: Roberto Lewandowski (Futbol Club Barcelona)

Barcelona’s hot start to the season continued at the weekend with a 4-0 thrashing of Cadiz to help the Catalans remain undefeated through five, and summer signing Robert Lewandowski was in the center of it all once again with a goal and two assists in a fantastic substitute appearance.

CF: Beto (Udinese Calcio)

A 3-1 win at Sassuolo this past weekend was enough for Udinese to win four on the spin in Serie A and owe a great deal to a two-goal substitute appearance by Beto to help seal all three points away from home and ending matchday six in the top four.
