Our recommended bet for Saturday’s clash at The Den comes in the form of a draw between Millwall and Wigan Athletic.

A £10 wager for such an outcome will secure you a return of £34 with Betway.

Match preview

A Millwall outfit eyeing a swift bounce-back result will act as hosts when the Championship returns to The Den on Saturday, December 10th.

For those not aware, the Lions were one of two sides involved in midweek, as the campaign in England’s 2nd tier kicked back into gear at the Stadium of Light.

Safe to say, though, it ultimately proved to be an outing to forget for Gary Rowett’s troops. This came as goals on the part of all of Amad Diallo, Alex Pritchard and Ellis Simms guided hosts Sunderland to the right side of a head-turning 3-0 final scoreline.

This means that, all told, since a stretch of four wins on the trot early in October, Millwall have since secured just a solitary three-point haul from the club’s last five attempts.

The tightly-contested nature of the table at present, though, means that, should results go against them over the days ahead, Millwall could find themselves dragged back to the depths of mid-table come the close of play on Sunday evening.

Such a scenario, in truth, though, appears altogether unlikely as things stand.

This comes with the upcoming visitors to The Den currently embroiled in the thick of the battle against the drop from England’s 2nd tier.

Wigan, all told, have endured a season to forget to date, en route to defeat in an alarming ten of the club’s 21 league outings.

Six of these came across the Latics’ eight outings leading into the World Cup break, culminating in an inevitable slip into the Championship’s bottom three.

In turn, it did not come as a major surprise upon word coming to the fore that manager Leam Richardson had been sent on his way early last month.

Now under the watch of ex-Arsenal and Manchester City star Kolo Toure, and buoyed in their survival bid by a hard-fought downing of Blackpool last time out, all associated with Wigan will therefore be hopeful of better things to come over the weeks and months ahead.

We at 101, however, do not envision as much being kicked into gear this weekend.

Instead, we are backing hosts Millwall to ultimately emerge victorious come the full-time whistle at the Den on Saturday afternoon.
