Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach.
The Australian coach signs a four-year contract in north London to become the club’s fifth boss in four years.
He joins following a sensational season in Scotland as he secured the treble with Celtic.
The 57-year-old now has a major task on his hands to turn the ship around at Spurs following yet another turbulent campaign.
Last season saw the north London outfit miss out on European football completely as they ended up 8th.
Postecoglou inherits a talented yet dysfunctional playing squad which he must reshape and here are the four positions he must address this summer…

Central midfielder
Spurs have been built to play defensive football and their midfield options very much reflect this.
Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr are all better suited to being defensive rather than scoring and creating chances.
Postecoglou’s attacking systems will require his midfielders to get into attacking positions, so a more attacking, creative option is required.
Suggested signings: James Maddison, Alex Scott or Lee Kang-in
Left-back or right-back
Another area of the pitch where Tottenham have been designed to play in a defensive system is the wing-back area.
Spurs have spent big on two very talented wing-backs on either flank in Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.
However, in Postecoglou’s expected 433 system, it is likely that only one of the two will be used.
Typically at Celtic, the Australian coach used Greg Taylor (LB) in a more inverted, reserved role, whilst Alistair Johnston (RB) was allowed to push on and stay wide.
Ben Davies and Emerson Royal could both be good short-term fixes for this role, however, given their limited quality, an upgrade would be ideal.
Suggested signings: Lutsharel Geertruida or Piero Hincapié
Central defender
Tottenham looking to play on the front foot and higher up the pitch will require one if not two new central defenders.
Spurs will need to find a partner and cover for Cristian Romero, with all of the club’s other options not good enough.
They will preferably need a left-sided option.
Suggested signings: Aymeric Laporte, Gonçalo Inácio, Edmond Tapsoba or Piero Hincapié
Goalkeeper
Hugo Lloris will be leaving the club in the summer and a replacement is definitely required.
Spurs need to target a goalkeeper who is both an excellent shot stopper along with being good with his feet.
With Lloris, Tottenham have always struggled to play out from the back.
Suggested signings: André Onana, David Raya or Giorgi Mamardashvili
