Will Celta de Vigo avoid an ignominious first round exit?

O Celtiña are three-times finalists in this competition, beaten in 1948 by Sevilla, 1994 by Real Zaragoza and then 2001 at the hands of Zaragoza again.

Since the latter, they’ve fallen in the semi-finals in both 2016 and 2017, but haven’t tasted third round defeat for 39 years.

Right now though, Celta Vigo are just one point and one place above La Liga’s relegation zone, following Thursday’s goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano.

Carlos Carvalhal has only just taken over as Head Coach, so will not want an embarrassing Copa defeat to start.

Algar meantime are from Preferente Autonómica, which forms part of Spain’s sixth-tier.

So, Celta de Vigo should cruise to victory at Estadio Cartagonova.
