Match preview
One of the more one-sided looking fixtures of the FA Cup 3rd round is set to play out at the Technique Stadium on Saturday, January 7th.
The matchup in question will see Chesterfield play host to West Bromwich Albion.
The latter, of course, will head into proceedings as the overwhelming favourites to emerge triumphant, en route to a spot in the competition’s 4th round.
West Brom have been in stellar form of late, surging up the Championship standings owing to a run of eight wins from nine.
The latest came this past weekend, when a solitary Daryl Dike effort proved enough to guide the Baggies to victory over Reading.
And should they, as expected, ultimately go on to get the better of Chesterfield, too, then West Brom will immediately better their FA Cup record from last season, when the Midlands outfit were sent packing at the first time of asking, by Brighton.

This comes with their upcoming hosts sitting a full three divisions below the Baggies in the English football pyramid.
Chesterfield, to their credit, have themselves been on something of a tear of late, notching wins in nine of their last 11 fixtures, including a 4-1 drubbing of Scunthorpe at the weekend.
Such efforts have seen the Spireites climb to third in the National League table, with a game in hand on both sides above them.
But West Brom, come the full-time whistle, should nevertheless simply prove too much for the home side at the Technique Stadium on Saturday evening.
