The growing concerns surrounding Premier League top six outfit Tottenham Hotspur FC have reached a relative fever pitch in north London during the 2022-23 season.
Under current manager Antonio Conte and club director of football Fabio Paratici, Spurs sits fifth and well off the title race pace set by bitter rivals Arsenal, and were second-best against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners during their 2-0 loss in the North London Derby on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what was a poor showing in front of home support.
It was yet another bitterly frustrating performance by Conte’s men across a current campaign that has largely been met with far more questions than answers, not just regarding performances on the pitch, but also the club’s massive disconnect between Conte and the club’s leadership when it comes to their failure to navigate the current winter transfer window. Thus far, Spurs have failed to supply their Italian headmaster with vital reinforcements to get the club back on track, including backing away from the negotiating table over Sporting CP’s highly-rated wing-back, Pedro Porro.

As such, Tottenham Hotspurs Supporters Trust has today called on the club board for “clarity and commitment” surrounding the current situation after issuing an official statement, in a bid to make sense of what next steps are to be taken to push the club forward on all fronts.
“Two weeks ago we asked the Board of THFC to outline its strategy and vision. Today Antonio Conte asked for the same thing. It is clear to everyone that, for there to be a chance of success at this Club, the vision and strategy of the Board and Manager must align.”
“We understand the widespread discontent among Spurs fans who have loyally supported the Club through the 22 years of the current ownership, years in which success on the pitch has not matched the increase in the price of watching the team.”
“We urge the Club to reconsider their decision not to provide answers to the key questions raised by THST, and many individual supporters, until February and to provide those answers now. It is perfectly possible to do this without compromising the Club’s commercial position.”
“Spurs fans deserve greater clarity about the Club’s aspirations.”
