In what was meant to be a season of promise and progression under the tactical guidance of Antonio Conte and the directorship of Fabio Paratici, Tottenham has, instead, struggled to take steps forward in their aims of truly becoming one of the elite clubs in the Premier League.

Spurs so nearly earned a valuable home win against reigning champions Manchester City in midweek after taking a 2-0 lead in north London, but a second-half collapse of staggering proportions saw Pep Guardiola’s men bag four goals in the second half as Tottenham succumbed to another disappointing defeat; their third in their last four league fixtures. Their Monday night clash against high-flying Fulham now comes into heavy focus at Craven Cottage as Marco Silva’s men are in a credible run of form in their own right (4-0-2), and with the Cottagers in with a chance to leapfrog Spurs in the table with a win in front of home support, Tottenham is in danger of falling further away from the race for top four.

Predicted Tottenham XI

Tottenham Team News

  • Out: Lucas Moura
  • Doubt: N/A

Antonio Conte will no doubt be relieved after Tottenham have almost a completely clean bill of health when they head across the English capital to clash with high-flying Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night, with the sole absentee coming in the vein of Brazilian veteran Lucas Moura.

The return of Dejan Kulusevski has been well received by Spurs, with the Swedish international forward likely to keep his place in the XI ahead of the struggling Richarlison who has yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League since his summer arrival from Everton.

Harry Kane continues his hunt to eclipse Jimmy Greaves’ all-time goalscoring record for the club, while Son Heung-min is desperate to get back among the goals as Conte is likely to name his strongest possible XI, with Ivan Perišić certainly in contention to start in the wake of the 4-2 loss against Manchester City.
