Having, once again, failed in the Champions League, Barcelona’s main focus now is on regaining the La Liga title.

Given that their fate had already been sealed, Xavi made wholesale changes for Tuesday night’s trip to Viktoria Plzeň.

They left the Czech Republic 4-2 winners, with Marcos Alonso tapping home, Ferran Torres bagging a brace and Pablo Torre reduced to tears after netting on debut.

In European terms, Barça will next be in action on 16 February in the Europa League first knockout round.

Back in La Liga, the Blaugrana are now just one point below leaders Real Madrid.

That’s largely thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s 91st minute winner against Valencia at Mestalla last Saturday night.

Almería too are buoyant following a memorable victory of their own last weekend.

Lázaro, César de la Hoz and Íñigo Eguaras were all on target in a 3-1 win over Celta Vigo at Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos.

This actually means the Segunda División champions have won three successive home games, following wins over Rayo Vallecano and Girona.

On the road though, Rubi’s team are yet to taste victory this season, accumulating just a solitary point from six trips.

So, Barça should easily win at Camp Nou.
