Perhaps Barcelona aren’t back after all?
On Thursday, the Blaugrana’s positive momentum came to an abrupt halt as they were held to a goalless draw by Galatasaray in the Europa League.
So, Xavi’s team will have to win in İstanbul this forthcoming Thursday to reach the Europa League quarter-finals and avoid an embarrassing exit.
This goalless draw was very unexpected because, before it, Barça had been in scintillating form, hammering Napoli in the previous round.
Either side, in La Liga, the Catalan giants had also put for past Valencia and Athletic Club, followed by last weekend’s rather tighter 2-1 victory over Elche.
Memphis’ emphatic late penalty seeing them leave Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero with all the points.
So, they’re now third in La Liga, their highest position since the opening weekend of the season, looking to extend their unbeaten run to 12 league games.
Osasuna meanwhile are, for the third season running, enjoying the security that comes with being mid-table.
Los Rojillos also enjoyed a surprise victory last time out, beating Villarreal 1-0 at El Sadar with Chimy Ávila getting the winner.
So, Jagoba Arrasate’s side have won four of their last eight games, losing three, so sit 11th, 11 points clear of any danger.
Will Barça be too strong at Camp Nou?

Xavi has some serious options, particularly in attacking areas, so could continue to rotate his front three.
Memphis, Ferran Torres and Adama Traoré made up the front three that couldn’t break down Galatasaray on Thursday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembélé, who both came on in that one, are expected to return to the XI here.
In midfield, Nico is suspended, due to yellow card accumulation, so Sergio Busquets will return in midfield after a rare rest in midweek.
Dani Alves, who isn’t in the UEFA squad, is expected to return at right-back, in place of Sergiño Dest.

After a win last weekend, Jagoba Arrasate could stick with the same XI.
This would see Kike partner goalscorer Chimy Ávila in attack, chosen over Ante Budimir.
Although, if they go more defence, Darko Brašanac could return in midfield alongside Moncayola and Lucas Torró.
