German wunderkind Youssoufa Moukoko has put substance to the hype that has long-surrounded the 18-year-old after he has become one of the leading lights for Borussia Dortmund this season on the back of six goals and six assists in 22 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga giants.
But despite his success, his future may still lie away from the Ruhr valley next season after Moukoko and Dortmund have yet to strike fresh terms on a contract extension, thrusting fresh doubt on whether or not the German international may cross the Channel and look to ply his trade in the Premier League.

Details provided by Florian Plettenberg regarding Moukoko’s stance via agent Patrick Williams, the player’s situation as it stands was made plain when he spoke with Sky Germany; “I can confirm that we are not yet about to sign a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund. I can also assure you that the numbers that are circulating are simply not correct and Youssoufa was never offered that way. But we are still in contact with Borussia Dortmund and will see what the next few days bring.”
Another monkey wrench thrown into the situation comes from the fact that Moukoko wants a resolution one way or another in the near future, with Premier League giants Chelsea remaining keen on the player as a viable long-term solution through the center-forward channel.
Dortmund’s most recent contract offer which was first reported to be in the €5m-€6m is not accurate according to Plettenberg, and the club’s hierarchy will no doubt be faced with having to splash considerable financial resources if they intend to make him a key puzzle piece for the club’s future if they are to fend off interest from a cadre of big-spending clubs.
