Feyenoord have never won in four visits to the Czech Republic while Slavia are unbeaten at home to Dutch visitors. When drawing the first leg at home, Feyenoord won their first 11 European ties, but have subsequently lost the last ten. Slavia Prague have advanced through six of nine ties after drawing away first.

Both teams to score is 8/15.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is 10/11.

Feyenoord to win and both teams to score is 10/3.

Yira Sor has scored six goals in 11 appearances since arriving from Baník Ostrava in January. He is 14/1 to break the deadlock and 9/2 to score anytime.

Bryan Linssen has 16 goals to his name this season. He is 17/2 to open the scoring and 5/2 to net in 90 minutes.

Match preview

It took just ten minutes for Feyenoord to break the deadlock when Luis Sinisterra burst down the left and fired into the near post.

However, Peter Olayinka bundled in a first half equaliser and then, midway through the second perid, Yira Sor put Slavia in front from close-range.

The Dutch giants though were unperturbed as Marcos Senesi chested in an equaliser, before Orkun Kökçü thought he’d won it with a magnificent free-kick.

But, a crazy game had one final twist when, in the 95th minute, Ibrahim Traoré’s back-heal snatched a 3-3 draw.

So, with the away goals rule no longer in operation, it’s now winner takes all as these two reconvene in the Czech capital.

These clubs actually met in the group stages with Feyenoord winning 2-1 in Rotterdam before a 2-2 draw in Prague; goals guaranteed.

This is the first time Feyenoord side have reached the quarter-finals of a European competition since lifting the UEFA Cup two decades ago.

De club aan de Maas were the first Dutch European Cup winners in 1970, before repeating that feat in the UEFA Cup four years later.

Now, having demolished Partizan Belgrade 8-3 in the previous round, they’re aiming to be the first-ever Europa Conference League winners.

As for Slavia Prague, this is their third quarter-final in four seasons, having fallen at this hurdle of the Europa League in both 2019 and last season.

The Slavists’ runs were ended by Chelsea and Arsenal respectively, but their wait for a first European semi-final appearance since 1996 might be about to end.

Jindřich Trpišovský’s side have already ousted Fenerbahçe and LASK in the knockout stages, advancing 6-4 and 7-5 on aggregate.

Domestically, Slavia moved top of the Czech First League this weekend, one point clear of Viktoria Plzeň, by beating Pardubice 4-0.

Over in the Eredivisie, Feyenoord remain third, 11 points behind leaders Ajax, following Sunday’s 4-1 drubbing of Heracles Almelo.

Who will advance to a semi-final clash against Olympique de Marseille or PAOK with victory at Sinobo Stadium?

Slavia Prague team news

Jindřich Trpišovský’s XI will be without many key players, mainly due to injury.

These include first-choice left-back Jan Bořil, midfielder Petr Ševčík and star winger Lukáš Masopust, all of whom would start otherwise.

Meanwhile, Srđan Plavšić is suspended and David Hovorka, David Jurásek, Jakub Hromada and Lukáš Provod have all been left out the UEFA squad.

This leaves them short at the back, so Ondřej Kúdela and Taras Kacharaba will remain the centre-back pairing with Oscar Dorley filling in on the left.

Tomáš Holeš is an option in defence, but was deployed in midfield in Rotterdam.

At the other end of the pitch, Yira Sor has been a revelation since arriving in January, scoring six times in his last four European appearances.

He and Peter Olayinka will remain the main goal-threats, with the latter having netted nine times in UEFA competition for the club.

Feyenoord team news

Arne Slot rotated his XI a bit for Sunday’s league win, but all the big hitters will return here.

However, they’re without first-choice goalkeeper Justin Bijlow due to a foot injury, so Ofir Marciano will continue to deputise.

Worryingly, top-scorer Guus Til, who’s netted 21 already this season, and Luis Sinisterra were both taken off at the weekend with possibly injuries.

If either are ruled out of this one, that would be a major blow.

Either-way, Bryan Linssen will lead the line with Patrik Wålemark, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Reiss Nelson the alternative attacking options.

Young American Cole Bassett won’t feature as he hasn’t been included in the UEFA squad.
