Colchester United have entered 2023 down in 22nd after another loss last time out with the U’s set to play hosts to Swindon Town at the JobServe Community Stadium as the away side picked up arguably their best win of the season.

As for Colchester, they lost once more at home with Wimbledon defeating the U’s 2-1 after John Akinde gave the club a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot.
Colchester remain down in 22nd with just 17 points and sit above Rochdale by only two points. Worse yet, Rochdale have a game in hand to play over them and the club could be sucked into the bottom two if they lose here.
Colchester did, however, defeat Gillingham 1-0 on Boxing Day to move them off the foot of the table.
