Match preview
It’s arguably the biggest game of the season for MK Dons and Forest Green Rovers this weekend as the two clubs fight in a must-win battle down at the bottom of League One as only two points separate the two sides before the Boxing Day clash.
MK Dons are currently sitting in the relegation zone with 18 points from 21 games and only five wins on the board. They will be hopeful of getting out of the drop zone in the near future, however, as the two-point gap on Forest Green is also coupled with an extra game in hand to play over them.
The Dons have still managed to lose 13 times this season in League One, and no side has lost more games than them. At the same time, they are heading into this game off the back of being thrashed 3-0 at Stadium MK by Leicester City in the EFL Cup.
As for Forest Green, they were hammered by Derby County last time out in League One, as the Rams thrashed Ian Burchnall’s men 4-0. The club have still managed to jump out of the relegation zone in recent weeks because of their two-game winning run in December.
Forest Green first beat Cambridge United 2-1, before then defeating Cheltenham Town 1-0 as well.
