Colchester United and Sutton United are set to meet in League Two this weekend as the two teams are separated by huge difference on points but sit nearby one another as only four places keep them apart.
Sutton are currently 17th and have to deal with the fact that some sides above them also have games in hand. The club have already lost nine times this League Two campaign, and by conceding 26 goals too, they are one of the worst teams in the league this campaign on the defensive front. As well as this, Sutton have managed to score just 18 goals from 20 games and only those sitting in the relegation zone have scored fewer.
Sutton have avoided defeat in their past two games, however, following on from a 1-0 win over Rochdale three weeks ago and a 1-1 draw with Carlisle United last time out. They last tasted defeat to Bradford City, as the Yorkshire side strolled to a 2-0 win away from home. What’s more, Sutton lost Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy and Farnborough in the FA Cup first round back in November.
As for Colchester, they have managed to lose to Mansfield Town last time out in a 2-1 loss. On the other hand, it was only three weeks ago in which they beat Doncaster Rovers 3-0 in their best display of the season. Another recent loss against Bristol Rovers in the EFL Trophy means there are no more cup runs to look forward too either.
