10 places separate Swindon Town and Crewe Alexandra ahead of a meeting at the County Ground where the home side are inside the playoff positions once again in League Two with Crewe bouncing off the bottom of the table in recent weeks.
Crewe have struggled tremendously this season and were languishing in the relegation zone for the first few weeks of the campaign. Now, however, after putting together a run of a few wins and some draws, they are in 16th and on 22 points with a game in hand on those above them. Better yet, should they win that extra game, the club could find themselves in the top 12 all of a sudden.
Crewe also managed to beat the League Two leaders, Leyton Orient, in the FA Cup two weeks back, before they managed to beat Colchester United which rocketed them away from the relegation spots by nine points.
Swindon were hammered by Stockport County in their FA Cup first round clash, but by beating Mansfield Town 5-2 away from home and drawing with Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City after beating Hartlepool United, they are on a fantastic run of form in League Two. In fact, they have not lost a game in the league since a defeat to Stevenage back in early October, as they also edged past Colchester a month ago.
