Rovers made a fine start in beating QPR last weekend and we are backing them to win again at Swansea, with the home side getting on the scoresheet.
With the confidence of last week’s win and a new manager for the players to impress, backing Blackburn to win both halves at 15/4 could be a smart move.
Match Preview
The home side go into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with newly promoted Rotherham United, while Rovers took all three points off QPR courtesy of a Lewis Travis long-range screamer.
Despite a disappointing 15th-place finish last season, the Swans are still 6/1 to be promoted this season, and those odds are perhaps due to their activity in the transfer market so far. The Welsh club have brought back Joe Allen ten years after he departed for Liverpool, as well as adding young prospects like Harry Darling from MK Dons and Nathan Wood from Middlesborough.
Rovers are priced at longer odds of 8/1 despite finishing a very respectable 8th last time out. However, fans of the Lancashire club will be disappointed with how the season panned out after being in contention for the automatic promotion places before Christmas, only for the team to suffer a second-half season slump.
But with new manager Jon Dahl Tomasson at the helm, there is renewed optimism around the club that they can go one step further and at least make the playoffs this year. To do that though, they will need to keep key players around such as Ben Brereton-Diaz, which will be a battle as the speculation grows over a Premier League move for the Chilean international.
