Steve Bruce’s side are without a win in six matches, a run which has seen them plummet down the table to a hugely disappointing 21st after the first international break of the season, but with just one defeat in the league in that run of games they will be confident they aren’t far off turning the corner.
Games against Swansea, Preston and Luton offer the Baggies a chance to turn it round and start climbing up the table, but they must sort a leaky defence which is without a clean sheet since August 17. At home to the Swans should be a good chance to put that right.
Two wins in three – including a comprehensive 3-0 win over Hull before the international break – has revived Swansea’s campaign after a very indifferent start to the season which saw just one win in their opening seven games.
Games have often tended to be fairly tight involving the Swans so far, with neither side scoring more than one goal in five matches and two 1-0s in the last three matches, pointing to a potentially tight game, despite West Brom’s tendency to leak goals.
