In the final weekend of action in Ligue 1 until after the World Cup break, Brest will play hosts to Troyes as the home side aims to get out of the drop zone in gameweek 15 with the away outfit unlikely to move from 13th.
Although Troyes can move above Toulouse just above them, a loss and wins for those below them will still keep them out of the drop zone for now. Currently, Troyes are 13th with three wins and with an impressive 25 goals scored already, no side in the bottom half have netted more than them. In fact, this is a higher tally than Lens in second and Marseille in fourth.
Claude Robin’s men have struggled for form in the past month, however, and they are looking for their first win since the start of October, having lost to Nice and Paris Saint-Germain, while also recording draws against Ajaccio, Lorient and Auxerre.
As for Brest, they remain in the relegation zone and with a chance to jump out of the bottom four this weekend. The club will need to win and hope that Nantes, Ajaccio and Strasbourg fail to win their games. On the other hand, should Brest lose here and Angers win, they will move into 20th in the table in what is turning out to be a very unpredictable race to survive in Ligue 1.
