101GreatGoals have put together a list of the 10 youngest Premier League players in history.

10: Jack Robinson (16y, 250d)

Jack Robinson made his Liverpool league debut in a 0-0 draw with Hull City back in May 2010, in what was Rafael Benítez’s final game in charge of the Reds.

Robinson also holds the record for longest wait between debut and first PL start. He left Liverpool permanently in 2014 and now plays for Sheffield United.

9: Reece Oxford (16y, 236d)

Oxford made his debut for West Ham vs Arsenal on August 9, 2015.

Said appearance came on the opening weekend of the Premier League season away at Arsenal in a 2-0 win for the Hammers. Oxford won the Man of the Match award on this debut but would only go on to make seven more Premier League appearances for the club.

He left West Ham for FC Augsburg in 2019.

7=: Gary McSheffrey (16y, 198d) & Rushian Hepburn-Murphy (16y, 198d)

As for Hepburn-Murphy, he made his debut for Aston Villa vs  Sunderland on March 14, 2015.

He left Villa on a free in 2020 and now plies his trade with Swindon Town.

6: Jose Baxter

Baxter has handed his first outing in the English top flight for Everton vs Blackburn on August 16, 2008.

His career took a downturn after this and he retired in 2021 despite currently being just 31.

5: Aaron Lennon (16y, 129d)

One of the more recognisable names on this lest, Lennon made his debut for Leeds United vs Tottenham on August 23, 2003.

He went on to have a solid PL career with Tottenham and won the League Cup. Lennon retired last year.

4: Isaiah Brown (16y, 117d)

Brown’s top-flight debut came for West Brom vs Wigan on May 4, 2013.

He was signed by Chelsea shortly after this but struggled to build on his potential. He is now 26 and currently a free agent.

3: Matthew Briggs (16y, 68d)

Briggs was handed his first outing in the PL for Fulham vs Middlesbrough on May 13, 2007 – a tie they lost 3-1.

Briggs also failed to live up to the hype and has had a mediocre career. He is 32 years of age and currently plying his trade in the lower tiers of English football.

2: Harvey Elliott (16y, 30d)

Harvey Elliott got his first appearance in the Premier League for Fulham vs Wolves on May 4, 2019.

Elliott has since made the switch to Liverpool and after a stint in the Championship with Blackburn, is a regular feature for the Reds in 2022/23. It remains to be seen if he can live up to the hype he had from such a young age.

1: Ethan Nwaneri (15y 181d)

The no.1 spot on this list also goes to the most recent entrant. Nwaneri made his Premier League debut for Arsenal vs Brentford on September 19, 2022.

He is still currently 15 years of age at the time of writing, with his 16th birthday on March 21.

Nwaneri remains in Arsenal’s youth ranks and is yet to notch another senior outing.
