The player in question is Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia.
After Southampton were relegated from the Premier League last season, Lavia’s future has been up in the air.
A whole host of top English clubs have been linked with a move for the midfielder, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Liverpool have been the side most heavily linked with the Belgian over the last week or so.
However, a fresh update on Arsenal’s interest in Lavia has now emerged on Sunday.
According to the Guardian, Arsenal have an interest in Lavia, but Southampton’s £50million asking price might be a bit rich. However, the report also mentions the possibility of Thomas Partey being allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium for around £30m.
The report adds that £21m has already been raised from selling Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen, which again, is funds that could be put towards a Lavia transfer this summer.
