AFC Bournemouth’s new owners are gearing up for their first transfer window with the south coast club.

Having seen three defeats in their first games in charge, the club can waste no time in handing their new permanent boss, Gary O’Neil, the new recruit that he needs.

The Cherries are currently sat 15th in the table and are just two points above the bottom three.

Bournemouth owners line up first signing

Di Marzio is reporting that Bournemouth have been testing the waters over the feasibility of a deal to sign Weston McKennie.

It is no surprise that the Cherries’ new US owners have been looking at one of the stars of their national team.

The midfielder was key in helping the USA reach the round of 16 at the World Cup last month.

McKennie remains a strong part of Massimiliano Allegri’s team having made 16 appearances this season.

But given the Italian club’s financial struggles, he could be a player who is sacrificed.
