Antonio Conte believes that Tottenham Hotspur still have plenty of work to do in order to close the gap on the league’s top clubs.
The Italian admitted that Spurs did as much as they could during the window, but more work on the squad is required.
Importantly, Conte also added that he understands that he and the club are just at the start of the process of improving the squad.

The former Inter Milan boss has claimed that three more transfer windows are needed to be in a position to compete with the best teams.
He said: “I think first of all we have to understand in this transfer window we did what the club could do.
“I think that we did good things but I have to be honest with you because I see other squads of the top team there is too much distance, still too much distance.
Overall, Conte sounds happy with the work Spurs did during the transfer window, but clearly, he is managing expectations.
He has made it very clear that the north London club still have work to do if they want to compete for major titles.
His team face Fulham on Saturday and he has given injury updates on both Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur here.
