Wolverhampton Wanderers star Nathan Collins has, on Sunday, torn into Steve Davis’ squad.

Wolves, of course, have taken their place centre stage in the English football headlines over the course of the day, for all the wrong reasons.

This comes owing to the latest alarming defeat suffered by the Midlands-based outfit.

Taking to the pitch for the 4th occasion since the dismissal of Bruno Lage, and now under the watch of Steve Davis, Wolves welcomed Leicester City to Molineux.

The day’s hosts headed into proceedings in the knowledge that a defeat would see them leapfrogged by the basement-dwelling Foxes in the Premier League table, and dragged down to 19th.

And yet, when all was said and done, fall to a 7th loss from 12 this season is precisely what Wolves went on to do.

Davis’ men, in turn, have since been heavily targeted by fans, pundits and the media alike.

And now, as alluded to above, one of the club’s own stars has too made clear his frustrations with recent developments at Molineux.

Speaking to the media post-match, defender Nathan Collins, who saw out the full 90 minutes on Sunday, refused to bite his tongue, tearing into a Wolves outfit in ‘shambles’:

“It’s not good enough,” Collins began. “End of. It’s nowhere near where we need to be. It’s a shambles, a poor performance. It was embarrassing playing that today, I feel ashamed, for me and the players, and we need a reaction.

“We said it before the game, both boxes, you look at the stats, we’ve had so many chances. We’ve had the better chances probably, but we don’t score a goal, they have five shots and score four goals. Defensively and attacking, we were nowhere near where we needed to be.”
