Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on Monday.
A report from Football Transfers claims that the appointment of Mauro Meluso as Napoli’s new sporting director could help the Gunners sign the 22-year-old Georgian international.
Meluso was never Arsenal’s sporting director. However, he recommended Jakob Kiwior to the north Londoners when he was a consultant, and the Gunners went on to sign the defender.
It would be a shocking move to say the least and given Napoli are arguably worse than Tottenham when it comes to jacking up player prices, Arsenal would likely have to break the bank to get a deal for Kvaratskhelia over the line.
Kvaratskhelia scored 12 and assisted 13 in 34 Serie A games last term as Napoli went on to win the league title.
The 22-year-old is a natural left-winger, meaning he would be competing with Gabriel Martinelli for a starting berth.
