The player in question is Brighton and Ecuador midfielder, Moises Caicedo.
According to a report from football.london, the 21-year-old is on the radar of Premier League club Chelsea, but Arsenal have not given up on him just yet.
Arsenal showed heavy interest in the South American during the January transfer window and were linked heavily a few months ago.
However, they have since secured the signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz to strengthen their midfield. But despite this, the Gunners continue to keep tabs on the Ecuador international and they could look to enter the race if there is a major outgoing in the near future.
Arsenal now have a plethora of midfield options at their disposal, but both Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have been tipped for Emirates exits.
Should the duo both depart, it seems reasonable that Arsenal would want another midfield option to partner Declan Rice in the middle of the park, especially if Mikel Arteta wants to use Kai Havertz further forward – like he did in the Gunners’ pre-season friendly vs Nurnberg on Thursday.
