Arsenal have reportedly leapfrogged Newcastle United in their pursuit of Arda Guler as they look to bolster their team.
The Turkish midfielder has been in high demand this summer and could land himself a contract at Arsenal:
“I’m told the Gunners have leapfrogged Newcastle in the race for Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler. The Magpies held talks with the 18-year-old’s representatives but Arsenal are now the English club most interested in sealing a deal,” journalist Pete O’Rourke stated.
No transfer fee has been mentioned for the teenage attacking midfielder.
Guler is a product of Fenerbache’s youth system and has already notched 49 appearances for their senior side, with his showings earning him the title of the ‘Turkish Lionel Messi’.
33 of those outings came in the 2022/23 campaign, where he scored six goals and provided six assists.
The two-time capped Turkish international is capable of playing on the right-wing, doing so 17 times this past season.
