Arsenal currently have Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny as viable midfield options, with Mikel Arteta seemingly not too keen on using Albert Sambi Lokonga.
But with Elneny getting on and suffering from frequent injuries, some fresh legs in midfield would make sense.
And on Sunday, it is being reported that Arsenal are lining up a summer move for the AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer.
A report from FootballTransfers claims that Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo remains the priority target for Arsenal, but they could move for the 25-year-old AC Milan star if a deal for Caicedo proves complicated.
Bennacer has a €50m release clause in his contract, which is substantially less than the £80m fee Arsenal saw rejected for Moises Caicedo in the winter window.
Bennacer has been a key figure for AC Milan since his move from Empoli in 2019.
