The player in question is Lens striker, Lois Openda.

According to Jonathan Johnson, Openda will not be moving to Leeds United, while Aston Villa also doesn’t seem particularly likely. He adds that Arsenal is a more realistic potential destination for him, if the Gunners decide they want to invest significant money in a signing up front this summer.

Lens qualifying for the Champions League will be key in swaying Openda’s decision-making ahead of next season, though Johnson claims the French outfit are likely to have to consider big enough offers if they come in, as they will need to strengthen their squad to balance domestic and European football next season.

Openda joined Lens this past summer and has since made 34 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 19 and assisting three in the process.

Lens are second in the league with four games to play, but they are only two points above 3rd place Marseille, meaning Champions League football is by no means guaranteed.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report.
