Re-emerging Premier League title contenders Arsenal looks set to take one outgoing off the transfer board this summer after the Gunners have pulled out of the race to sign Southampton starlet Roméo Lavia as the club looks increasingly likely to keep Thomas Partey on the books.

Despite the considerable interest shown in the 30-year-old Ghanaian international star, the Gunners are now in a position where only an offer too good to turn down would convince the club to part ways with the key midfielder.

This was corroborated by football insider Fabrizio Romano via X, with Arteta said to be happy with the former Atlético Madrid standout despite questions surrounding his future previously this summer.

Interest in Partey has not born fruit as of now according to Romano, despite the likes of Serie A giants Juventus as well as multiple big-four clubs in the Roshn Saudi League expressing interest in the Krobo Odumase-born midfielder.

Neither Juve nor any of the other reported potential suitors have gotten close to the ~£40m offer that the club would likely accept despite neither Arteta nor club technical director Edu Gaspar actively placing him in the summer market stall.

Irrespective of Arsenal’s record move for West Ham United captain Declan Rice this summer, there is still room for Partey to carry a vital role under Arteta in 2023-24 after the club’s return to the Champions League as well as the continued ambition to push growing rivals Manchester City for domestic honors.
