Premier League pace-setters Arsenal have taken yet another step toward guaranteeing the future in north London after the club has agreed to a contract extension with Brazilian starlet Gabriel Martinelli.
The 21-year-old winger added four-and-a-half years to his current terms with the club that will see him on the books until summer 2027 according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein as Arsenal continue to view the budding winger as a key asset under Mikel Arteta as part of the long-term picture at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite serious interest in Ukrainian wonderkid Mykhailo Mudryk during the current January transfer window before the left-winger opted to move to Stamford Bridge, Martinelli has jumped at the chance at being seen as a first-choice option at Arsenal and continues to be a key catalyst on both sides of the ball in Arteta’s tactical schematic.
His extension, as well as the club’s current level of performance in both the Premier League and the Europa League, would certainly go a long way in helping the club not only extend other top assets in the senior squad but continue to recruit via the market for potential needle-pushing talent to sustain the club’s desire to challenge Manchester City’s hegemony.
Recent reports linking the club with interest in Vitória de Guimarães’ young Italian midfielder Ibrahima Bamba, and a failed £60m first bid for Brighton’s Moisés Caicedo earlier today, is further proof that Arsenal is adamant about adding long-term player profiles under Arteta.
Additionally, Arsenal remains interested in West Ham United’s star midfielder Declan Rice as well, and though the England man is slightly older than the aforementioned options, the club is maneuvering in the market to set the squad up for the next 5-7 years while leaning into the reality that they are finally ready to challenge for major honors once again.
