The Mirror report that Arsenal have lodged a transfer request for Vitoria Guimaraes’s defensive midfielder Ibrahima Bamba.

Mikel Arteta and co. have requested to be kept up to date on the development and availability of the 20-year-old holding midfielder, who is rated at around £26.5m.

The Gunners are said to be interested in signing Bamba in the future. However, the likes of Atalanta and Villarreal are also interested in Bamba, so the Portuguese outfit may be tempted to strike a January deal with one of his other suitors instead.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on versatile winger Alex Baena.

Baena, 21, has taken his game to new heights this season, managing 11 goal contributions from 16 games. His current deal at Villarreal runs until 2025, and he has a rather release clause worth €35m.

Wilfried Zaha is also of interest to Arsenal, with The Sun, reporting the Gunners and Chelsea could be able to sign Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer next summer when he is out of contract at Selhurst Park.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was signed over the summer and is now the Gunners’ first-choice left-back. That, combined with the fact that Takehiro Tomiyasu has now shifted to the left after Ben White’s conversion to right-back this season, has seen Tierney fall further down the pecking order at the Emirates.
