Gabriel Jesus scored three and assisted two in his first five league outings for Arsenal, suggesting he may have been ready to step up and be a top team’s main goalscorer.
But in recent weeks, the goals have dried up and Jesus is now eight appearances without a goal.
He has also missed the most big chances (10) of any player in the English top-flight this season.
His latest blank came on Thursday as Arsenal saw off Zurich in the Europa League by one goal to nil.

But when asked about Jesus’ form after seeing Arsenal book their place in the last 16 with a 1-0 win, Arteta did not seem too worried: “That’s going to change, he’s getting the situations, he’s getting the chances, he’s contributing to the team an awful lot, he’s helping to win matches, the way he competes for every ball in every single action is incredible.
