Arsenal are in League Cup action on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners will take on Brighton at the Emirates in the third round of the competition.
Arsenal then face a trip to Wolves this coming weekend in what is their final game before the World Cup.
But with World Cup squads beginning to be announced, Mikel Arteta is cautious of his players losing focus for Arsenal:
“Obviously there is a lot of attention and a lot of media coverage,” said Arteta, when asked about the World Cup now coming into his players’ mind.
“I’m sure they get asked a lot of questions, a lot of people contacting them already because it’s just around the corner, it’s a matter of days now.
“We need to understand obviously the risks and rewards that we have, but at the same time we cannot treat any competition in a different way.
“We want another win because as well, playing well helps winning, and winning helps winning. It maintains the mood, it maintains the momentum, the confidence, the trust, the involvement of everybody and it’s just beneficial in any aspect.”
Should Arsenal beat Wolves on Saturday, they will remain top of the Premier League until at least Boxing Day.
