Premier League outfit Aston Villa have, on Friday, announced the departure of a headline member of the club’s attacking ranks.
The player in question? Philippe Coutinho.
The subject of Brazilian international Coutinho’s future has of course long taken its place front and centre in the headlines at Villa Park.
This comes with the former Liverpool standout having tumbled well down the midfield/attacking pecking order of Claret and Blue boss Unai Emery.
Amid long-standing fitness issues, too, it had, in turn, long been rumoured that the powers that be at Villa were pushing Coutinho towards the exit door.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, such efforts have at long last borne fruit.

It is currently unclear whether or not the deal includes an option to buy.
Coutinho, all told, has taken to the pitch on 43 appearances in Villans colours, notching an underwhelming six goals along the way.
