Historic Premier League outfit Aston Villa is looking to write a new script under Unai Emery at Villa Park after the club continue to back the Spanish tactician in the transfer market after completing a massive summer coup for highly-rated French international winger Moussa Diaby.

In a statement released on the club’s official website, Villa not only confirmed the signing of the goalscoring winger but also his inclusion in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of French international Moussa Diaby.

The 24-year-old winger joins Villa from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee and has already linked up with his new teammates on their tour of the United States.

Diaby, who has 10 international caps for France, started his career with hometown club, Paris Saint-Germain, graduating from the youth ranks into the first team.

Since joining Leverkusen in 2019, his performances for the Bundesliga side both domestically and in the Champions League and Europa League had caught the eye of a number of clubs around Europe. He finished last season with 14 goals to his name in all competitions.

Welcome, Moussa!”

Villa has done exceptionally well to add considerable quality and depth during the current summer transfer window, having already added Villarreal’s Pau Torres, and Belgian international midfielder Youri Tielemans on a free.

Diaby will no doubt slot straight into the XI at Villa Park in what would constitute a very dangerous and direct front line that would also likely constitute Ollie Watkins and fellow former Bayer Leverkusen standout Leon Bailey.
