First, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Barcelona are competing to sign Benjamin Pavard at a slashed price amidst their ongoing financial struggles.
The Spanish giants are looking to sign the right-back at a bargained price. The club have previously dipped into the free-agent market to sign multiple names, and with Pavard’s contract in Germany expiring in 2024 they are looking to sign the French defender at a reduced fee in the summer.
But while Barcelona have been linked with moves for Benjamin Pavard, Thomas Meunier, and Diogo Dalot, among others, they are also keeping tabs on relatively burgeoning talents for the future like former La Masia academy right-back Arnau Martinez, according to ESPN reporter Samuel Marsden.
Martinez, 19, left the Barca academy to join Hospitalet youth ranks for a faster route to senior football in 2016. He has come leaps and bounds since, and is now considered one of the most talented young right-backs in Spain thanks to his consistent performances for Girona.
Elsewhere, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are convinced striker Lamine Yamal can become the next gem to emerge from La Masia and discussions to extend his contract will take place soon.
