Match preview
If Toronto FC are going to gatecrash the play-offs, they need wins with just five regular season games to go.
On Wednesday night, TFC were held to a 2-2 draw by LA Galaxy at BMO Field.
Jesús Jiménez and then Federico Bernardeschi scoring, the latter thought he’d won it from the penalty spot, only for the Galaxy to grab a last-gasp equaliser.
So, Bob Bradley’s team have only lost one of eight matches since the Italian revolution began on 23 June.
However, Toronto remain tenth in the east, two points below that all-important dotted line.
Here, they face the biggest game of their season with Canadian Classique rivals Club de Foot Montréal in town.
New York Red Bulls, the club currently just below CFM, left Stade Saputo 1-0 winners in mid-week.
Beforehand, Montréal were unbeaten in eight, winning six of these, with their last defeat on 9 July.
Both Canadian Classiques this season have produced home wins, TFC’s coming in the Canadian Championship, so will this one follow suit?
