Arsenal are interested in breakout Ajax man Devyne Rensch this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his ranks ahead of their first season back in the Champions League.
A win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday confirmed that the club could not finish any lower than 2nd this season, though they are likely to lose the Premier League crown to Manchester City should results go as expected.
Ben White has been a standout performer for the Gunners this season, having been moved to a new position at right-back, but injuries to Takehiro Tomiyasu for much of the campaign have forced him to play practically every game, something that is unsustainable going forwards.

With ongoing concerns around Tomiyasu, a right-back is on Arsenal’s shopping list this summer, with Ivan Fresneda one name linked with the north London side in January, though they would face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United for his signature.
Another who has reportedly caught the eye is Rensch, who has appeared 23 times in the Dutch top flight this season. Like White and Tomiyasu, the 20-year-old is versatile and can play across the back four, something that will help add further depth to Mikel Arteta’s side.
And Football Insider report that the Gunners are keen on the defender as they look to move White back into central defence, and could be plotting a move this summer.
With Arteta’s side set to compete on four fronts next season, and unable to play reserve sides in the Champions League group stages as they did in the Europa League, there will be plenty of additions in north London this summer.
