Arsenal are keen on making a move for Turkish forward Kerem Akturkoglu, but face competition from north London rivals Tottenham as well as Atletico Madrid and Lyon should they want to complete the signing.

That is according to Turkish media outlet Star.com, who claim that the Galatasaray attacker could be set to leave the club this summer for a fee of around 20 million euros. The Gunners are thought to be leading the way for the Turk, who has grabbed 8 goals and 6 assists in 31 Super Lig appearances this campaign.

‘The English team Kerem Aktürkoğlu will knock on Galatasaray’s door at the end of the season to finish the transfer, and the testimonial value that has been sacrificed is exactly 20 million euros’, the report claims.

He has predominantly played as a right-winger for the Turkish side this season, but has also lined out as a central striker and a left winger at times.

Do Arsenal need Akturkoglu?

Arsenal need reinforcements in their forward line, with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract in the summer and showing no signs of signing new deals to prolong their stay at the Emirates Stadium.

And, should they shift club record signing Nicolas Pepe, the Gunners will need perhaps as many as three options to bolster their forward line in the face of increased fixtures should they return to European football next season as expected.
