Arsenal legend Robert Pires has been speaking about the club’s current boss, Mikel Arteta.
Arteta took charge back at the end of 2019 and has since endured a mixed stint, though things are looking up for the Spaniard at the moment.
And, when speaking about Arsenal recently, Pires stated that Arteta is doing a great job and that the Gunners have found their DNA:
“Of course I still follow Arsenal, I watch all the games and I am in contact with the sporting director Edu and Mikel and many other former players,” Pires said.
“I think he is doing a great job. Arsenal have found their DNA based on a fast and attacking game. He asks a lot of his players and is very demanding starting from the training sessions.”

Arsenal on the up
Arsenal had a rough start to the 2021/22 campaign, losing their first three league games of the season by a scoreline of 9-0.
Arsenal would lose 2-1 to Manchester City on January 1st, though it was a much more even game than the 5-0 drubbing Arteta and co. had to suffer through earlier in the campaign.
Since then, Arsenal have not lost a league tie, winning four and drawing one.
This has seen Arsenal climb up to 4th in the Premier League table, boasting at least two games in hand on the three Champions League-chasing sides below them.
Of course, Arsenal do have some tough games on the horizon, but the north Londoners do look to be in with a very good shot at returning to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.
