In-demand Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo remains one of the most sought-after transfer targets in the Premier League this summer as clubs begin their respective campaigns to secure vital reinforcements for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
As part of Roberto De Zerbi’s overachieving Seagulls side that secured European football for the first time in the club’s history after climbing to 6th in the table, the Ecuadorian midfielder has become one of the club’s most prized possessions. As such, interest in his signature has become the focus of some of the biggest clubs in the country.
Despite Chelsea’s near-catastrophic campaign that saw the club finish 12th in the table in the wake of shelling out ~£600m across two transfer windows, the Blues remain confident that the long-term picture at Stamford Bridge can still be a successful one after the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, and upcoming efforts to retool the senior squad under the Argentine.
Reported interest in Sporting CP’s Manuel Ugarte speaks to what the club is hoping to reconstruct under the former Tottenham manager, but despite their interest in the Uruguayan midfielder, Chelsea is still reportedly very much in the running for Caicedo, regardless of competition levied by the likes of league rivals Arsenal.
Chelsea remain absolutely INTO the race for Moises Caicedo. Nothing has changed. 🔵 #CFC
He’s in the list, 100% — no matter what happens with Ugarte deal, still ongoing. https://t.co/BK8H8Zl3g7

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, regardless of whether or not the Blues secure a move for Ugarte or not, Caicedo remains a prime transfer target for the club this summer.
Caicedo had previously received guarantees from Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi back in January that he would be allowed to leave in the summer window should he stay to see out the rest of the season, and it would end up being a decision that benefitted the club massively. Caicedo’s stock has risen even higher in the last six months as well, which should see him net a massive payday in comparison to his current wages at the AMEX.
