Correct Score Tip of the Day

While the Villans finished 14th last season, they ranked 10th in terms of points picked up on the road. They will also be out for revenge having lost each of the last three Premier League encounters in this head to head. Therefore, 101 Great Goals’ prediction for this match is Bournemouth 1-2 Aston Villa and is available at odds of 17/2.

Alternatively, you can bet on any Bournemouth win at 11/5 against The Villans at home on Saturday. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £32. Or, back any away win for Aston Villa at 11/10 here at Dean Court. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £21. You can also find odds of 12/5 for any draw between Bournemouth and Aston Villa on Saturday. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £34.

Goalscorer Tip of the Day

Danny Ings is our tip for first goalscorer in Saturday’s match. The Aston Villa central forward scored seven goals (or 0.33 per 90) in the English Premier League last season with an expected goals of 6.8 and is 11/2 to be the first name on the score sheet in this match. Or 15/8 to score at any time during Saturday’s game.

Match preview

The Cherries welcome Aston Villa to Dean Court in Bournemouth on Saturday for this Premier League match.

Bournemouth finished last season in 2nd place in the Championship. As a result, they were promoted to English football’s top-tier at the second time of asking following their relegation from the Premier League in 2020 after finishing in 18th place. They previously stayed in the Premier League for five seasons after their promotion in 2015 and will hope they can make a regular spot in this league their own once again.

The Cherries come into this match on a run of 10 home league games undefeated and have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three league matches carried over from last season. This includes their last league match of the 2021/22 Championship season at home to Millwall. The final score of the match was 1-0.

Boscombe have very much been on the frugal side of that line this summer. Marcus Tavernier is the big name signing for them and the only player they have signed for which they have paid a transfer fee. The 23 year old left midfielder arrives from Middlesbrough FC for £10.71m. Joe Rothwell, a 27 year old central midfielder, and Ryan Fredericks, a 29 year old right-back, also arrives from Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United respectively on free transfers.

Bournemouth are still without David Brooks as he continues his recovery from cancer. He is needing to build up his fitness once again and it could be towards the end of the year before he is ready to participate in matches again. Joe Rothwell (quadriceps) and Ryan Fredericks (calf) are unlikely to make their debuts here due to injury.

Aston Villa finished last season comfortably in mid-table, 11 points behind the UEFA Conference League place and 10 points above the relegation zone. The Villans come into this match on a run of four league games without a win carried over from last season and lost their last league match of the 2021/22 season away to Manchester City. The final score of the match was 3-2.

The Villians have been busy over the summer, although not quiet as much as last season. Philippe Coutinho officially completes his permanent move to the club for £18m after his successful loan spell from Barcelona in the January window. Robin Olsen also made his loan move from AS Roma a permanent one for £3.15m.

Diego Carlos is the big money signing for them this summer. The 29 year old centre-back arrives from Sevilla FC for £27.90m. Ludwig Augustinsson, a 28 year old left-back, also arrives from Sevilla FC on loan. The signing the fans seem most excited about though is their only free transfer with Boubacar Kamara arriving on a Bosman from Olympique Marseille.

Kortney Hause is Villa’s only injury worry for this match. The Aston Villa defender is still recovering from the knee surgery he required last season after making seven appearances.
