The Blues had a very active summer under Todd Boehly that saw them break the record for most money spent in a single transfer window.

Such spending may have led to people to believed they would have a quite January, but that has been far from the case.

Mykhaylo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Andrey Santos, David Fofana and Joao Felix have already arrive through the door this winter.

And one more signing in January would more than likely take the west Londoner’s spending to above the £200m mark for January alone.

To get round FFP, Chelsea have been giving their new signings 7-8 year contracts, allowing them to pay off transfer fees over a longer period.

However, they will still need to sell in order to balance the books and also to make sure their squad is not too inflated.

First up, according to Sky Germany, Chelsea must raise money through outgoing transfers to balance their rapid spending, and there is talk that the Blues could sell Kai Havertz for £53m this summer. While Bayern Munich are said to be uninterested, other clubs are ready to enter the race for the 23-year-old.

Elsewhere, according to The Telegraph, Newcastle hold a strong interest in Hakim Ziyech.

It is suggested Ziyech could join the Magpies on loan in January, with Newcastle holding an option to buy him in the summer.
