Under siege Premier League outfit Chelsea has jumped from one hoop to the next in the wake of the current devastating situation involving its ownership through Russian oligarch billionaire Roman Abramovich.

The club released an official statement in the aftermath of the announcement of crippling sanctions placed on Abramovich due to his long-standing connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has perpetrated the ongoing, and unjust, invasion of neighboring Ukraine.

Speculation continued to swirl around the Chelsea first-team camp regarding the German defensive stalwart, who has been subject to heightened rumors of a summer exit across the last six months which now seem to be on the verge of materializing officially.

Apart from the expected interest from both Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid, fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle United has recently joined the race for Rüdiger though it remains unlikely that the Magpies would be able to appear more appealing than PSG or Real apart from potentially offering a greater financial package.

Chelsea facing summer transfer crisis

With Antonio Rüdiger looking increasingly likely of an exit from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are now in a potential transfer bind that could see them struggle to replace not one, but two key defensive pieces in the upcoming summer window.

Danish international center-back Andreas Christensen looks set to ply his trade in Catalunya next season with the Cobham academy product giving a clear indication that he intends to leave the club for Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer.
