Arsenal are set to return to Lille for a third time in four seasons in order to bolster their side in the summer, as they target a cut-price deal for 23-year-old.

The Gunners are in need of reinforcements in their forward line, with not much by way of backups behind the youthful trio of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli, with Nicolas Pepe seemingly out of favour under Mikel Arteta. Meanwhile, young talents Omari Hutchinson and Folarin Balogun are likely to need a season on loan.

As a result, and the need to strengthen on a budget, Sky Sports claim that they could well turn back to Ligue 1 for additions, with Zhegrova in their sights.

It is thought that any deal for the Kosovan international, who only joined Lille in Janaury, would set the Gunners back around £11 million. Since his arrival, he has scored or assisted three times in seven appearances.

It would be the third time that the Gunners have raided Lille, with mixed success so far. While Gabriel has turned into a very astute addition, forming a brilliant partnership with Ben White in Mikel Arteta’s defence, club-record signing Nicolas Pepe has been a very underwhelming signing, and cannot buy a start this season.

Arsenal need several signings

A cut-price addition in the wings is a sensible option for the Gunners, who will be looking to make multiple additions this summer.

It could be another record-breaking summer in north London.
